Certification Standards, Agencies and Markings

The following agencies are responsible for developing industry standards which influence the safety and design of B.I.M. products. Their corresponding certification marks vary with respect to testing required to achieve a recognized standard.

The following marks may appear on some or all of B.I.M. Limited’s products.


CE
The “Conformite Europeene” (French) or European Community” (English) mark indicates the products comply with the requirements of relevant CE directives. Products with the CE marking may be freely imported into or exported from each European country.
CSA
The Canadian Standards Association, is Canada’s equivalent of Underwriters Laboratories (UL). This organization tests and certifies that products conform to their specific set of safety related specifications and guidelines
IEC
The International Electrotechnical Commission is a world-wide standards agency, which produces standards covering all aspects of the electrical and electronic industry.
ISO 9000
Is an internationally recognized series of quality systems, standards and guidelines that certify the consistency of the way an organization produces and delivers its products and services.
UL
The Underwriters Laboratories Inc., is an independent, non-profit and non-governmental organization in the USA that tests and evaluates products for public safety.
